Gateway Analytical announced today that they will be presenting on the evolution of gunshot residue analysis and exhibiting at the upcoming IACP 121st Annual Conference and Exposition at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, October 25th-28th.
The IACP Annual Conference is the leading event for delegates in the law enforcement field across the globe, including local, state, county, tribal and federal agencies. It provides law enforcement professionals with a concentrated forum for learning, collaborating and experiencing new technology as well as the opportunity to discuss critical issues, and prepare for future operations. During the conference, Gateway Analytical Scientist, Emily Landsperger, will be presenting a poster session titled “The Evolution of Gunshot Residue Analysis and the Accompanying Progress in Result Interpretation”. This session will provide attendees with a brief history lesson regarding the progression of analysis of GSR particles, along with how the interpretation of GSR particles has progressed through time along with the technology. Sections of the poster will also provide tips on the best methods for collection of GSR on different substrates including hands, clothing, and vehicles.
In addition to the poster session, Gateway Analytical will be exhibiting at Booth #671 where they will be promoting a wide array of services for physical and trace evidence examination including the analysis of gunshot residue, hair and fibers, materials identification, chemical identification and providing expert testimony. “We are looking forward to presenting on the topic of gunshot residue and exhibiting at the upcoming IACP Conference,” said David Exline, Senior Vice President at Gateway Analytical. “In any investigation, every piece of evidence has a story to tell.
