Gateway Analytical is proud to announce that we’ve been invited by a FDA representative to speak at the scientific program of the 27th Annual International Forum and Exhibition Process Analytical Technology (Analysis & Control) (IFPAC) meeting being held this year at the beautiful Baltimore Marriott Waterfront located within Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Maryland. I am honored to say that I will be presenting on behalf of Gateway Analytical in the forum of Particle Identification in Pharmaceuticals. My presentation is titled “Forensic Analysis of Foreign Particles in Pharmaceutical Materials” and it will focus on the role of pharmaceutical forensics as a specialized field of examination in the pharmaceutical industry. Pharmaceutical forensics applies the expertise of forensic analysis and problem solving to non-conformance and deviation investigations.
Forensic Analysis of Foreign Particles in Pharmaceutical Materials
The presentation will focus on the presence of foreign particulate matter and other contaminants that can halt the production of drug products for weeks, even months, until the contaminant and the source are identified and the issue is fully resolved. I will discuss how the time-tested, advanced problem-solving approach called pharmaceutical forensics can help to quickly identify foreign particulate matter and answer questions as to how, where and when it originated.
I will be presenting on Wednesday, January 23rd during the PM VIII session which will run from 1 – 5 pm. I would like to invite any attendees to stop by for the session or even stop by for a chat, if you have time. If you are unable to make the session or the IFPAC conference, my presentation will also available for download. The presentation will help the viewer become more familiar with how a forensic approach yields more valuable information, which common analytical techniques are used, source determination of contaminants and finally, the critical role of a quality system in a foreign particulate analysis environment.
And as always, feel free to contact me if you would like more information.
