PITTSBURGH, Aug. 29, 2011 — Gateway Analytical received certification today from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards, under ISO standard 9001:2008 for the quality management system governing its analytical lab processes.
Prior to certification, the company’s system was subjected to an intensive audit by UL DQS Inc., one of the top five certification bodies in the world, with no nonconformances.

Gateway Analytical officially opened for business in October 2010, specializing in: pharmaceutical and industrial forensics, particle identification and characterization, and criminal trace evidence examination services.
In addition to ISO 9001:2008, Gateway Analytical is also pursuing certification for the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) 2011 Supplemental Requirements. The company is currently registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and complies with current good manufacturing procedures.
